Hi all, Just a quick question on the SP 5 install. According to the Service Pack 5 official instructions from Microsoft it only lists the client installs being done through the Automated Client Updates window after the server install. We have had previous bad experience with this and they have always provided a client install instruction set if you choose to install directly from the client. Anyone know if there is a link to this information or have done it. I don't think we would have to do everything on each client that we do on the server as we have a shared reports.dic that everyone uses etc etc.. TIA

I can't help you much with the links, I've had a look and haven't found the right links for you. But if you follow the 10.0SP5_install_guide_ENUS.pdf, there are links related to downloading the exe and the msi for client updates.

Personally I haven't used the client package generated from GP, so we used the msi file to update each workstation.

I haven't seen a sp5.msi, or in this case, MicrosoftDynamicsGP-KB2435617-v10-ENU.msi, which contains the 2010 US Payroll Year End Update and Service Pack 5.

I don't believeExe's can be pushed using the client install. So should I tell my users to run the exe from a shared location instead of using the Server push client install?

You should be able to find a server sp5.exe and a client sp5.msi

I've gone through SP5 recently and have had those files from Customersource.
