Prepopulate Activity form

Hi all,

   when user click on "Save and New" button on Phone Call form, the new opened phoneCall activity will not prepopulated.. how can I make CRM populate fields there automatically?

    Hi Yasser,

    You can try using "Followup" button from the activity toolbar. This will help you pre-poulate the details from the current activity.

       Thanks for replaying! but how can I show followup assisstance by using Java Script.. do you have a way to do so?

     I found articles talking about :

     document.all.RelatedInformationPane.ToggleInformationPane();

     but toggle will show/hide.. I need to always showing the Form Assisstance

    Hi Yasser,

    You need to customize the activity entity and enable the Expanded by Default option for Form assistant.

    Follow these steps

    1. Customize the Task entity.

    2. Goto Forms/Views and edit the Form.

    3. Goto Form Properties

    4. In the Display Tab, Check the "Enable Forms Assistant" and the "Expanded by Default" options.

    With this done the Forms Assistant will always be visible.

    When you want to make a follow-up activity you willl however need to manually select "Follow Up" from the Form Assistant Drop-down.

     Hi Sam,

        showing Form Assistant from customization will solve the issue but that will not be the best solution for my issue... I need to show/hide form assistant in certain circumstances depending on selection for a picklist value..

    I mean if user select value 1,4 --> Show Form assistant

               if user selevt value 2,3  --> Hide Form assistant

     

    I think if you have away to know if the form assistant visiable or not, would solve the issue 100%..

     I'm trying like mad to find a way to change the default "Followup Button" to be a phone call.  I also want the subject of the phone call to ALWAYS be "Follow Up", and set a default date to exactly one week from now at 8:00am.

     I found some really interesting form scripts that you can add to objects like "Phone Call" to populate fields, but this does not work with the "Followup Button" (and I havnt figured out yet how to add 7 days to the default date() function), and I can't find the place to customize the action of that button!!

     thx Jeff for replying..

    actually this will not work for me.. I need something more complicated.. I need to populate Reciepient/Regarding/From the fields that reference other objects.. as well as fields that mapped from those objects (like phone number).

     

    I think this will not be accomplished wihtout followup functionality
