Good morning,

I have to schedule a job that sends an email notification when the items stock falls below the Safety Stock Quantity.

Is there anything standard for doing this?
i'm working in Business centrla 2019.

Thanks a lot.

    Hi

    1) Try "Inventory Reorder" report and see if it is close to what you need. Then schedule that report to run in Job Queue and let Job Queue run and email. The challenge here is Report may run blank and email.

    2) Create an Excel File then publish Item page as web service and use this method to create your own report. Then let windows scheduler open and run the report and email

bring BC data to Excel: archerpoint.com/.../

example of email from Excel:  www.thesmallman.com/automate-workbook-email

    3) Use some kind of method like what is suggested below :  joshanglesea.wordpress.com/.../

    4) Ask developer to design such a report for you and then codeunit to run it. Then in codeunit you can say if report is blank do not email.

A different possible method would be to use the Planning Worksheet or Requisition Worksheet and the system will use the reorder point as a trigger to create a new Purchase Order and the planning parameters will calculate the quantity to purchase. From there you can choose the menu option to carry out the action messages and the system will convert the planned orders to actual purchase orders. By running that daily you are both alerted to conditions requiring you to order and the process of creating the PO's is somewhat automated. A different way of solving the same problem.

You can set notifications in Power Bi. I would try this approach.
