Hello,

Is it possible at a functional level to "hide" the options to a user, for example to see only the Ship option and not Ship and Invoice option?

Create a custom permission set that excludes the Post and Invoice functionality. Also you can control who can post and invoice in User setup table

    Thanks

    Hello,

Yes, at a functional level in Business Central, it is possible to restrict or hide certain posting options like Ship and Invoice for specific users, using a couple of different approaches.

Option 1 is through Permission Sets, where you can create a custom permission set that restricts users from posting invoices while still allowing them to post shipments. Although this won’t visually remove the Ship and Invoice option from the interface, it will prevent the user from completing the action. When they attempt to use it, an error will be displayed due to insufficient permissions. This method ensures that users follow the correct process based on their role, even though all options remain visible.

Option 2 is via Personalization, where users (or admins on their behalf) can manually hide specific actions or fields on the page. This is a UI-level change that removes the visibility of the Ship and Invoice button from that particular user’s view. However, it is a user-specific setting and not managed centrally through roles or profiles. For organizations with a small user base or where changes per user are acceptable, personalization offers a simple and effective method to streamline the UI.

    Hope this will help you!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni
