The source data is not in the required format...

Hello,

When trying to do a CRM import, I get the following error for some of my rows which states, "The source data is not in the required format" and for others I am getting "The start or end date is not valid"

The column Heading name is called, "Name"  This column is a option set (same as what is in CRM).  The column is a Text field.  Just not sure why it is failing really.  The Date fields are formatted as Date already.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi,

CRM data import is very sensitive  , anything wrong in the structure will not import . Here is the few things you can follow -

Step1- Download template for that Entity from CRM and don't change the format.

Step3 - Prepare another Test excel and with same order of column mentioned in the template.

Step2- Export one record from Advanced Find for that entity with similar column mentioned in the template to compare the format.

STep4 - Paste the source data in the Test excel file and compare the format with which  you exported from Advanced find .

Step4- If Step- 4 s correct then copy Test excel data to the template file (Step 1)

    Step5- Import template file data.

Make sure you are mentioned same format date(Export from advanced find ) and heading column name as per template.

And always keep first column as blank in the template.

    Hope this helps.

This didn't help....I am getting this again.  The field in CRM is a lookup field.  If I remove the data from this column in my spreadsheet it imports fine.  There is nothing strange with the test in the field in excel either.  So not sure why it isn't working.

Export some record adding the  lookup field and see what's lookup data is retrieving.

Import back same exported excel see it is importing or not, its should import.

If you are able to import then you will see what you are missing with lookup value in your excel compare to the exported excel.

I am saying because when you are importing lookup value which means it was predefined in the CRM , so you should provide correct lookup value in the template to identify the matching lookup value in CRM.
