Short picks keeps sending me to the same location again and again

Hi Experts. I have the following scenario and I would like to know if I am missing a configuration or something because this behaviour seems counterintuitive to me.

  • I have Item XXXX with stock in 2 locations.(location A01 - 5 units / location B01 - 1 Units)
  • I create a sales order of product XXXX for 5 units and then release it to the warehouse.
  • The picker arrives to location A01 and finds only 4 units. He creates a shortpick and picks 4 units and the system sends him to pick the remaining unit in location B01.
  • The picker arrives to location B01 and finds that the product is not there so he creates a short pick but the system sends him back to location A01.

Is this the standard behaviour? This configuration keeps us cycling from A01->B01->A01->b01 ... and so on.

Could you please help me?

Thanks!

    Hi Fernando,

You could navigate to Warehouse management / Setup / Work / Work exceptions and check the box marked "Adjust stock". This will adjust the stock down at that time of short pick, remember to check the "Automatically create cycle counting" box to ensure a cycle count validates the missing stock.

I would suggest testing this in your test environment first to ensure it provides the best outcome for you.

    Rgds.

    Hi Fernando,

Have experienced the above before as well. The above is base and the user might end up in a loop indeed in the scenario you are mentioning. As a workaround we configured a separate exception which the user can select for which we didn't configure the reallocation logic. The latter just to ensure the user can escape the flow.
