Financial Transaction Transfer error for General Ledger Module

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

We are getting the following error when running Financial Transaction Transfer for period 12-2017 for General Ledger:

GL Transaction update aborted,  Error = 5 on PJTRAN.

We cannot find any thing on this error and need help finding what to look for.

Period 12-2017 was previously closed but the Project Controller Current Period has been set to 12-2017 before running FTT.

    Warren -

Thank you for posting to the forum. The issue you are seeing was reported back in SL 2011 but with inventory transactions and FTT. What version of SL are you seeing this behavior?

In case you are running SL 2011, there is a hot fix and it is also fixed in SP3. support.microsoft.com/.../you-receive-system-message-5-when-you-run-financial-transaction-transf

Please let me know if you are seeing this issue in a different version then the HF covers or SP3.

    Thank you,

    Carolyn

    Thank you , Eric.

Changing the FTT batch number in the Project Setup screen resolved the issue.

¿Does this happens with every other module, or it's just GL?

If you can do no transfer whatsoever, it might be a transfer batch number out of sync. Go to the Project Setup screen (PASET00) and check out the last financial transaction batch#. Just add 1 to the value, save the changes and try the transfer again.

This is a sequential value not that useful really, but it's a primary key.
