"True" Automatic Assignment of Lot Numbers

Hi:

In order to change the status of a Released Production Order in Manufacturing, I had to choose Line...Components and -- one by one -- tell Business Central which Lot Number to use.

Sure, the lot numbers are autogenerated in the sense that I didn't have to type the numbers.

But, end users are not going to want to go into each component item and in essence manually choose lot numbers.

Is there no way of having the "next" lot number automatically assigned to each component?
