Fixed Charge when Posting Product Receipt

(0) ShareShare

Dear all,

I am using AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 12.

In AX standard, Fixed Charge does not specified when posting Product Receipt.

How to specify Fixed Charge when posting Product Receipt?

Is it okay if we add Fixed Charge when posting Product Receipt?

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Johanna

    Hi Johanna,

Fixed charges are posted with the invoice.

Why is it that you want to post it earlier?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig,

    Thank you for your reply.

We want to post earlier because the charge is already charged when receipt product.

We do not want to wait until the invoice is created.

    Do you have any suggestion?

    Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Johanna

    Hello Johanna,

I see. What are you doing in case the charge varies one day? That is, if the charge that is finally invoiced differs?

To also handle that, wouldn't it make sense to use 'charge' items or categories?

If you use an item/category you can post the costs with the product receipt and modify it later on without requiring a system modification.

Why not using items/categories rather than charges?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig,

    Thank you for your reply.

I cannot use 'charge' items or categories.

I want to get the same procedure in proportional charge using fixed charge.

How can I achieve this goal?

    Best regards,

    Johanna

Have you tried proportional charges? They are posted at the time of product receipt.

    Thanks,

    Huzaifa

    Hi pearl_jo,

Even if you use charge category type Fixed, Pcs, Percent and Proportional in purchase order; charge amount will be always recorded at the PO invoice level as per default design in ERP. Therefore, you will not get any charge value recorded during product receipt posting even if you have enabled the required setup in Procurement and sourcing parameters form which is 'Generate charges on product receipt'.

However; you can check below link where same subject was discussed in this forum before which seems, can be achieved through code modification.

    https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/f/dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations-forum/309124/applying-misc-charges-on-product-receipt-in-code

Try this in Dev environment first to check if this is working properly or not and update in this forum.

    Hi Sourav,

I checked the post which you have mentioned and below is a comment from the post owner which clearly states that charges entered through UI are posted at the time of product receipt but charges generated through custom code were not posted at the time of posting product receipt.

"As I said in my question description, I am able to apply misc charges on product receipt when I manually (via the UI) create charges on purchase order lines. My problem is when I create the charges on the purchase order line(s) via code (insert into MarkupTrans), the charges do not apply. I can view the dynamically created charges from the purchase order line. But on product receipt, they do not show up or apply."

I have tested proportional charges and was able to successfully post it at time of product receipt.

Fixed type charge is only posted at the time of invoice.

    Hi Huzaifa Ashraf Mala,

May be you are checking in AX2012. Not remember whether proportional charge even can be posted during product receipt posting there or not.

I have checked in D365 and can see that even for proportional charge; it is posting only at the time of invoicing.

    Anyway... thanks for this information.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam
