Does CRM has any performance based on storage amount?

Dear all,

We have a strange scenario due to some compliance issues we cannot get started with sharepoint integration right from the word go.. and we are planning the store the data into crm as that is inevitable for now.

My question now is, does crm have any performance impact based on the amount of storage of data?? It could easlily bulk up to 500 GB to 700 GB.. and when i say storage they are documents like pdf, word etc.. attached to cases and emails.

Thanks

    Hi there.

In principle, there are no limits. If the SQL-Server is designed accordingly and the available memory is sufficiently large, than nothing speaks against it.

BUT... please keep in mind that backups need a lot of available memory and the larger your database, the longer the recovery takes. In addition, the performance of the CRM-System depends on the relationship between your entities and on the efficiency of your indexes. Some functions can be affected... like the regarding fields and the search function. A high amount of records can slow down your search. Last but not least... please pay attention to possible sharings...

    Kind regards,

    Karsten
