Transfer order with licence plate

Dear All Expert,

Im new in R3 inventory tracking dimension of licence plate. Im face a problem where transfer order not allow shipment post after pick registration as licence plate already exist.

Example: main warehouse A, location: receipt

License plate: LP001.

Transfer order to production warehouse B, location receipt.

Does any setup is missing or how can ship to warehouse B with license plate:LP001?

Appreciate a lot help.

    Hi,

    At what stage you are getting the error. While shipping the transfer order or while receiving the transfer order to warehouse B?

    What the the full error message?

    Have you been able to successfully post picking list registration?

    Hi Sagar Suma,

    Thanks a lot. It able pick register w LP. During transfer shipment posting, it throw LP already exist in location.

    Example;

    From- Warehouse A, location -receipt, LP001

    Intransit - transit warehouse, location/ Inreceipt, LP001.

    Any setting is missing where post shipment is failed for LP already exist?

    Hi Crispin, creating a new licence plate isn't an ideal solution. For instance you might manufacture a pallet of finished goods and use the licence plate as the pallet id, and that could be printed on a pallet label - if you transfer that pallet to a new warehouse you'd want to be able to use that LP, not generate a new one (and have to re-label the pallet).

    I remember this being an issue in R2 with WMII pallet id's so I'm surprised to see that it's still an issue.

    Hi Tim,

    I've at least one customer who is moving LPs around using Transfer orders. It is no problem to ship and receive on the same LP. I'm not sure why the OP is having a problem.

    Hi All,

    Thanks. Im not too sure if setup is missing somewhere where causing error TO shipment post "License Plate already exist in another location".

    Current all warehouse default receipt location is with "use license plate tracking" ticked.

    Mines action is normal TO pick register. (It is able pick register LP001). Then post shipment but failed with LP"s.

    Any associate LP"s with intransit warehouse?

    Hi Flower,

    I assume both the 'From' warehouse and all Items are 'enabled for Warehouse management processes'?

    Are you picking the Transfer order using the hand held functionality in the Warehouse management module, by using 'Picking list registration' on the Transfer order, or by updating the Transfer order lines directly?

    Hi, Guy:

    I am trying to receive a TO @ different site/warehouse with the same LP.

    Background:

    AX 2012 R3 CU9

    Site 1/WH 1: WHS enabled

    Site 2/WH 2: WHS enabled

    Simple scenario:

    TO: Transfer from Site 1/WH 1 to Site 2/WH 2

    Using Load Planning Workbench, work created to pick LP: 001 in full. TLP stays as 001 which is expected.

    Now, the receive @ Site 2/WH 2 has a new LP. I have been trying to figure out how to receive the same LP number during TO Receipt using the receive posting @ the transfer order form (not using mobile menu item to do the TO receipt). Any pointer is appreciated.

    Just use the Posting "receive" function directly @ TO form.
