Date in committed cost is not the same as the transaction date in project accounting

Hi,

The user created an item journal under Project accounting>>Common>.Projects>>All Projects>>Project tab in the action pane>.Item journal dated June 30, 2020 but the date that appear in committed cost is dated July 8, 2020.

Why there is difference in date?  May I know where does committed cost get the date?

As far as I know there is no accounting date in item journal that will update the committed cost date.

Pls find attached discrepancy in date.

The user is using AX2012 R3 with kernel and application version 6.3.5000.138.

Thanks.

    Hi marypeace,

Can you replicate the issue in your live environment?

That is, if you create a new item transaction and check the committed costs do you still see the strange date value?

If you do, get into contact with a developer who can help you debugging that stuff.

I have not found a hotfix for that on LCS, so you will need some development help here.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I tried it in demo environment and did not encounter this.

In case there is no hotfix for this, what workaround can you suggest?

    Thanks.

    Hello marypeace,

I don't see this error on my machine.

Are you operating an older version?

Can you replicate the issue in a different system / machine?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

The error log is, fiscal period for June 30, 2020 is not open.

I will understand if the committed cost is dated 1st day of next open period, if the fiscal period or transaction period is not open.  Actually fiscal period for July is also on hold, so why the date in committed cost is dated July 8, 2020.

    Thanks.

    Hello marypeace,

The item journal shows an error indicator with a reference to a log.

What does this error message / log say?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
