Hi,

For the same quantities (purchased and sold) we have a difference in cost amount at the inventory items transactions screen level.

Could you please help me to understand why?

Thank you,

    Hi Yassine.khol,

Is there something left open here?

If this is not the case, it would be great if you could verify the answers to get this thread closed.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Reinhard,

Yes I will do it in Test environment, thus i already correct the difference in Production using closing and adjustment screen (transaction adjustment).

    Thx,

Thank you Guy, it answers to a big misunderstanding we had regarding a Transfer Order, which generate 2 transactions same quantities (expedition and receipt) but different cost amount, with your answer i understand that each transaction is evaluated with AVG cost of the item in the Site/Warehouse.

Regarding the second part, i will test it tpday and revert back to you.

    Hi Yassine.khol,

I would suggest that you follow the remark of Guy Terry and use the marking functionality because it ensures that your PO and your negative PO that you used for canceling the original one have the same cost price assigned.

    To get the two transactions corrected with the same cost prices you would thus have to create create another two correction transactions;

    - one that reverses the first one and uses the marking functionality and

    - a second one that also makes use of the marking functionality and reverses the negative PO line.

Probably test this in a demo/test Environment to see what difference marking makes.

    All the best,

    Ludwig

RE: Cost Amount difference in Inventory Items transactions

    Hi Yassine,

If you're using a actual cost method (FIFO, Weighted average or Weighted average date), AX will value the first line using the price/cost of the purchase order or purchase order invoice. But the other transaction will be valued at the average cost (of stock of that item in that Site/Warehouse/Batch whatever you have it setup to use). To get the costs to match, you can use Inventory marking functionality to override the costing method and 'mark' the negative PO line to the first PO line.

Thank you John for your reply,

Both of transactions are purchase orders.

Thank you Reinhard for your reply,

    - We are using Average cost.

    - The first transaction is purchase order and the second one is a negative PO we did to cancel the original.

    - Involved inventory dimensions are Site/ Warehouse/ Location.

    - There is no specific sites prices .

    Hi,

What inventory value model do you use?

What do the highlighted transactions represent? (PO & return order)

What inventory dimensions are involved in the transaction (site, warehouse, etc)?

Did you setup site specific prices?

    Best regards

    Ludwig
