For those of you using MR with multiple company databases, here's a little bug we found while troubleshooting a problem with one of the reports.
Synopsis: Client uses over 200 profit centers and 4 company databases for one massive consolidated report. All end users have access to all companies but a few users primarily deal with one of the 4 companies used in the report.
Problem: Some users are unable to run this report. And when I say "unable", I mean after the user hits the Generate button, the report queue windows never come up and MR completely freezes. One of the users waited 45 minutes for the report to generate with no luck.
We doubled check all of the following: access to the building blocks used in the report, access to companies used in the report, access to the GP Share folder, library permissions, role assignments, Active Directory credentials. Please note that other people with the same role could run the report just fine.
Assessment: Since the users "primarily" dealt with one company, they only logged into MR and save their credentials with that one company, not the other 3 companies used in the report. It would seem that once the end users generated the report using 4 company databases, MR would prompt them to log into the other 3 companies but that never happened. So the report just locked the session.
Solution: By having the users log into and save their credentials for all 4 companies, they were now able to run report with no problems.
