Missing Mailbox 'alerts' and trace lo

Hi,

I seem to be having an issue viewing/retrieving any alerts which appear for our mailboxes.

We are using CRM 2016 V8.2 and server side sync (until recently email router).

Several mailboxes display "For more information please see the alerts"

Yet when I check the alerts section there is nothing there:

In addition to this, no recent mailbox errors appear when searching the 'mailbox errors' view on the server side sync dashboard, or looking through the wider trace entity.

The most recent error is from early 2016 and then nothing since then, despite being prompted to see alerts several times. I am wondering if a previous administrator has somehow turned these off?

Plugin and custom workflow tracing is turned on in system settings.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,

I'm also facing this issue, has anyone any ideas?

Another thing I'm seeing is that the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on prem 8.2) says that there are alerts available (I think the English term is alert, yellow bar on the top when you log in, ths version is in Swedish and I don't remember what it says on an English version), but when you click the "view alerts" button, nothing happens.

    Regards

The solution in my case was that the alerts had been turned of in system settings under the email tab.

Since there are TWO forum posts regarding this and no anwers I'd thought someone would be interested.

Perfect, that did the trick. Foolishly I had looked at this previously and assumed it only effected sending alerts to the mailbox owners, rather than creating trace records also!

    Thanks.

I have solved the same issue with mailbox alert pointing to nowhere on a Dynamics v.8.2. Problem - a standard 'Alert' subarea was removed from a SiteMap. So when I added it back, the yellow bar with mailbox alerts started to open a system view with alerts.

Go to Settings - Customize a system - Client Extensions - Site Map - Components - Add Sub Area - add settings as below:
