State W2 wages for all employees are zero

Posted on by 5

In Nov. 2015, my company upgraded to Dynamics GP 2015. Since the upgrade to GP 2015, for each of the last two reporting years, the UPR10105 table only populates employees who have had state withholding and displays the correct state withholding, however, state wages for all those employees display zero. State W2 wages therefore do not equal federal wages for all employees. I've been a GP user since 1999 and prior to the upgrade to GP 2015 never had this issue.  As a workaround, I've been able to insert records into the upr10105 for employees with no state withholding and have created a sql script to update state wages to reflect the federal w2 wages from the upr10101 table. Obviously, I shouldn't have to do this.

In my opinion, this has to either be an upgrade issue (where perhaps a stored procedure or table did not properly get upgraded) or an issue with the code. Has anyone encountered a similar issue that might be able to offer an explanation or a solution?

    Leslie,

Thank you very much for pointing me to the UPR30301 table.  STXBLWGS_1 through STXBLWGS_12 are in fact showing zeros for all employee PAYROLCD'S.  Now I just have to figure out why the table is not being updated after each pay run for the state wages.  What is puzzling to me is that within the Employee maintenance - State Tax card, each employee has an active IL state tax code, all pay codes have check marks indicating wages are subject to state tax and Illinois state withholdings are being computed and deducted correctly with each payroll.  Is there somewhere else I should be checking?

    Your input is much appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Tony @ Lunan

    Lunan,

I have not personally encountered this problem, my State Year-End Wage files have been calculating correctly. Whenever I run into one that doesn't come out right, there has been something wrong with the tax information. The first thing I do is to double-check the tax information and then check the UPR30301 table to see if the state information has come to that table correctly. If everything looks good I try regenerating my year-end wage file. If information is missing, I'll try to correct the missing information and then run my close again.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
