I am going to be creating a website for the local food bank, and they said they use Ceres software to manage their food donations, distribution, etc. They told me that it was bought out by Microsoft a number of years ago.
They want to be able to use their database of available food on their website, to post a menu of items that organizations can "order" from. So the website needs to tie into their Ceres database software somehow. I'm trying to find out more info on how Ceres works, whether or not this is possible, and how I would go about doing it.
I can program in PHP and HTML, and need to know if this would require knowledge other than that.
Any help would be appreciated, because I can't find anything about Cerres on the web, other than mentions of it in news articles simply stating this-or-that food bank uses Ceres software.
Thanks!
Jill

THe Ceres software is an addon to the Dynamcs NAV software package. It was designed specifically for the Feeding America Foodbannks.
Hi Jill,
Good news for you. Did a search on Microsoft Solution Finder and found the following
Seems to be a Romanian company.
The Microsoft contact details are
http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/request_more_info.mspx?mg_id=10203
Hope this Helps
Thanks for the feedback. From what I've been able to find, Ceres is a specialized part of Microsoft NAV? I wasn't sure where to start looking. THanks for the pointer....also, when you said "local regional office"...how would I find out where/who that is?
THanks!
Hi Jill,
I haven't heard of Ceres. This forum is for Dynamics Nav so you might not get anyone with exposure to it that follow this forum. You could try the Using Microsoft Dynamics Products forum
https://community.dynamics.com/forums/31.aspx
Although I think your best bet is phone your local regional office.
Good luck with the search
