Migration from Quickbooks Desktop to Business Central ft. Data Export Tool

(1) ShareShare

Hello Community,

I attempted to migrate data from QuickBooks Desktop to Business Central using the Microsoft Data Export Tool but encountered an error during the process.

Additionally, I am using QuickBooks Desktop 22.0, whereas Microsoft's documentation states that the Data Export Tool is only compatible with QuickBooks versions 2017 and 2018. Given this limitation, I am unsure how to proceed.

I would appreciate any suggestions or alternative approaches to resolve this issue. One option I am considering is migrating QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online first, and then transferring data from QuickBooks Online to Business Central. Has anyone tried this approach for migration?

Below is the error message I encountered when exporting data from QuickBooks using the Data Export Tool:

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

application or computer (machine.config) must have the

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging

enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    The easy way in terms of Business Central is to migrate to quick books online and then to Business central using tool. (I am not sure how big effort is to migrate to Quick Books online).

    Other manual way is to export data in csv/excel and then  use configuration packages from Business Central to transform and import data.

    @Bilal Haider By Manual Process, we are facing issue while exporting BOM. QB Desktop is not generating aggregate report.
    Can you suggest some ways to extract all of the data? as it is one of the road blocker to take the manual way. Thank you for you suggestion.

    Hi, Quickbooks has standard migration tools. But if you encounter problems from Quickbooks, it is recommended to post the problem into the Quickbooks forum.

    Thanks
