New upgrade regression testing.

Hi,
We are upgrading new versions each 2 or 3 months, now we are using 10.0.13.

My question. Can somebody please share a best practice on regression testing.

Here how we are running the upgrade.

1- Testing manually around 100 of standard functionalities 
2- Testing the customizations. Note customization testing have been automated
3- Exploring the new features.

Is this the good way or better to try to automat the standard functionalities as much as possible. Note our processes are supported by workflows so it is not obvious to automat this kind of processes.

Can you please share you method of managing the new upgrade ?

    It's recommended to use the RSAT tool: docs.microsoft.com/.../rsat-overview

    I assume you could use it even in workflow use cases by running different test cases with different user accounts, who would each play a different role in the workflow.

    Hi Kamel,

    I do agree with Nikolaos to start using the Regression Suite Automation Tool (RSAT). You can start with the most critical processes and extend it based on priorities every update to reduce the manual work.

    To help understanding where the changes are in the standard, you can use the Code churn report: docs.microsoft.com/.../impact-analysis-report
