Data Management import of Print Management settings partially succeeded - how to figure out what is wrong and correct the situation?

Posted on by 452

Hello,

I am receiving a data management Execution Summary :: Import Execution status of 'Partially succeeded' when trying to import an Excel file of print management settings.

I run this import via Data Management after a data refresh on a UAT environment.

I exported the staging data rows that show an error, but I don't know what to look for in the data to tell me the source of the problem. Most seem to be related to our 3rd party report tool Docentric.

Here is what the data management Execution Summary :: Import Execution status of 'Partially succeeded' message looks like in the UI:

I've attached the staging data error lines file here:

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/765/PrintManagementDataManagamentImportErrors_5F00_2023_5F00_04_5F00_25.xlsx

Does any resident expert have any insight to this issue? Is this error something about which I should be concerned? If so, how do I investigate the problem? To me, the error message seems too vague to be an actionable starting point.

Thanks again.

    Hello André,

I'm in a hold pattern due to our own test and deployment schedule.

I'll update again when complete to make this post useful.

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for the follow up. Is your problem solved after you contacted Docentric?

    Hello André,

So in the view staging data page I originally didn't notice the 'Message' area below the table.

Also  separately I followed up with Docentric, they said that Data Management import of Print Management settings via Excel is no longer supported, instead a data package must be used.

Hi Jim, You have 9 records with error so as Andre mentioned please check staging log, if it's empty then check view execution log.

    Hi Jim,

From the execution, you can go to the staging details. Does it have logs why these records failed? It looks like there is some ISV coding involved in this data package. If the log text is not helpul, you also might contact your partner or the ISV vendor, in this case Docentric.
