    Hi,

You are correct that some information is missing or not clear at all. As mentioned in my previous reply. by looking at the referenced, duties, privileges, and permissions overview, you can check the contents of the role. Or run a report as suggested by Magno.

Thanks for the responses. I am able to find description for some roles within Security Config Page. Some security roles do not have a description and for some roles, the role name and description is same. It is kind of hard to understand the purpose and usage (whether its for view, read or write operations) of the role without proper description. How to identify purpose and usage of each roles in this situation?

Hello! May I know what kind of documentation or information you are looking for? If you need a document or report, you can run the Security Role Access which provides a view of the effective permissions for each security role.

    Hi Arun,

The list with security roles, a short description, and the option to check the contents (duties, privileges, access permissions) resides within the application itself (Security configuration form). There are also security roles listed in the Dynamics 365 Licensing guide, but that is for required license SKU purposes only. There is no documentation page with a list of the security roles.
Anyway, within implementations, apart from the system administrator, system user, and project timesheet user roles, I haven't seen other roles being used. There were always custom roles to meet the organization's requirements.
