Hi,
Please guide as to what are the exact reasons because of which the following error comes, when HQ client is connected to HQ server via internet - "Connection to socket was unsuccessful: Valid name, no data record of requested type"

As jeff stated, we will need more information before we can give you any ideas....
Make sure you can "test connection" successfully on everything. Double check passwords, store names, make sure everything is pointing to the correct area.
Could be hundreds of things.
Double check store names, passwords, database names, port settings, really everything as its not giving us much info to go on.
