Is it possible to achieve the following in dynamics CRM in the Unified Interface?

- The user selects a number of accounts.
- After pressing a 'create tasks' button, a popup dialog appears to fill in the data for the task.
- After filling in the dialog, the user presses a button to close the dialog and the tasks are created for the selected accounts with the entered data.

In the 'old' interface I would probably have used a dialog.

How could I do this in the Unified interface? Who can give me a push in the right direction?

RE: Create a task for a selection of accounts in Unified interface.

    Hi

You can achieve this in few different ways, please see below

You could try a simple solution:

Add a field to account, lets call it Create Task Detail or something along the line,  Create a workflow that triggers on field change (Create Task Detail change). This workflow will check if the Create Task Detail has text, if it does, it will create the task and clear the Create Task Detail field. Now from Account entity home page, select the accounts and click Edit and just type the text into create task detail field and then the workflow should trigger and create task for each account.

If you want a clean solution, please see the options below

    Using Web Resource

You could add a Ribbon button to Account entity home page, and then when the button is clicked, you open a web resource, pass all the selected account IDs to the HTML web resource. In the HTML web resource, you can ask the user to enter the the details and on a button click in the web resource, you can create the tasks.

You could also create a Canvas Power App for this, and there are other options. Please let us know if you need further info on the options mentioned above or if you would like to know more about PowerApps or other options.
