I understand this is a huge topic but...
Does there exist a set template from Microsoft on the path or Plan to migrate data from 2009 AX to D365.
It seems that in our Statement of work that is falling on the customer side vs our consultants.
We have 2009 AX but want to make changes as we do the new implementation of D365

First of all, you need to determine what should be migrated or not. Are you reconfiguring the solution and need only master data and opening balances? What exact modules are you using in AX2009 and what modules will be used in Dynamics 365?
Reconfiguring some yes. For example we will be making Chart of Account changes.
Not sure yet all the modules that we are using in AX
There are a lot of templates inside DMF in D365FO available. you can use this for determing which entities you really need.
The Template need to be imported first with "Load default templates" to be useable.
