How to change from Salaried exempt to Salaried non-exempt

Posted on by 30

I am trying to figure out how to change someone from a Salaried exempt status to a Salaried non-exempt, nothing I change seems to make their overtime calculate. Could anyone walk me through all the steps needed to do this change so I can make sure I'm not missing anything obvious? Thank you.

    Hi Crazyfool117,

To give the employee overtime, it depends on what their pay type is within Employee Maintenance. If they are:

    Exception:

Whatever is entered into the Time and Dollar screen is what they will be paid instead or their salary. So if the employee worked 40hrs and got 4hrs of overtime you will need to enter 40hrs for their regular salary then another line for the 4hr of over time.

    Salary:

Whatever is entered into the Time and Dollar screen is what they will receive in addition to their regular salary. Say if the employee worked 40hrs and 4hrs of overtime. All you would have to enter into the Time and Dollar screen will be the 4hrs of overtime. The employee will receive their regular salary + what you entered.
