Duplicate contacts while email processing

Hi, 

I am new in Dynamics, but I do like how the system is built. The issue is with automatic mailing processing. Flow:

- Email cames in

- We are creating a LEAD from the email automatically

- The system creates Contact automatically.

Issues - Every time I sent the email from the same mailbox, it ends up with a new lead, which is okay, but the system automatically creates a duplicated contact. I do need a contact, but don't need duplicates. How can I configure to have contact to be created only once?

Please advise.

    Hi Hao,

    Unfortunately, it didn't help. Because the Duplicate detection is not working on automated stuff, I can't disallow duplicate contacts creation. It works when I am trying to create it manually, but not automatically. As for the unique key, it will not restrict creating contact with the same email, it only restricts creating contact with the same key. I thought about the JOB which can run every day and clean them up, but what if someone adds something to one contact and another person to its duplicate, which should I delete?

    Hi partner,

    If you define an alternate key for the Email field of the Contact entity, it will restrict the creating contacts with the same email.

    If you want to restrict which field cannot be duplicated, define an alternate key for this field.

    I have added a key, but the key is still pending

    And on the clicking at Create index..... I have this error

    An the duplicates are not gone. :(

    Hi partner,

    Alternate key is created only if there are no duplicates in this field.

    Therefore, delete the pending alternate key first, then run the Duplicate Detection job to clean up duplicates so that the Email field for all contacts are not duplicated, and finally create the alternate key.
