Setup ID associated with this transaction does not exist

Can someone please tell me what this error message means? Where can I find this "setup id" and what are the expected values for it?? This is from GP 2015 web application. I can not find any reference to this error message on the web not in the scant documentation provided by MSD.

Setup ID associated with this transaction does not exist. It could be

deleted by another user. The book expiration status can not be

determined.

Can you tell us in which module you were working - or if happening in general locations, can you please provide some context to the message.

What are you doing when you receive this message?

Thanks and keep posting, someone will help you figure this out.

The error occurs every time we open an order from the Sales screen. You'll have to forgive me, I am a software developer with 20 years experience, but I have never used GP until last month. Is there more than one way to get this exact error message? I didn't see it mentioned in any of the documentation I had found.

Here is some research I did into this error:

The error message mentions two things:

    1) Setup id does not exist

    2) Book expiration status can not be determined.

I am unable to find any information about this error message on the web.

I searched all column names in the database for any column with "setup" in the name.

I found three tables with column “MSO_Import_Setup_ID” which are completely empty - MS273520, MS273519, MS273520_NBK

I searched all column names in in the database for any column with “book” in the name and I found several tables with a field “MSO_BookExpDate”:

    • BACKUP_11092015_MS273505_INV0465566

    • MS273504

    • MS273505_mab

    • MS273512

    • MS273505_deleted_SETUPID

    • MS273512_tobe_fixed_121608

    • MS273505_NBK

    • MS273512_NBK

    • MS273523_NBK

    • BACKUP_09242015_MS273505_INV0461399

    • MS273505

    • MS273523

    • temp_orphaned_trans

    • temp_allwctrans

I find it interesting that there is a table called MS273505_deleted_SETUPID, since I think we are looking for missing setup ID. But there are only 9 rows of data on that table, none of which are the rows which cause the error.

    Hi,

What document type are you working with in Sales?

    Regards,

    Rosemary

No one has ever seen this error message? Can I please get a response from Microsoft Dynamics?

    Hi,

You said the message came up with document type 'order'. I have never seen this message before. I know you can create price books per customer, Book ID is also used in Fixed Asset.

Within Quotes an expiration in the amount of days can be set when setting up the Quotes.

Can you upload screen prints of what was being done?

Also, have you asked your GP Partner if they can assist?

    Regards,

    Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, yes our partner has been asked about the error, so far they have not looked into it.

    HI Jamesss

I note that this is from the web application.

Do you also have an in house install of GP that you could try opening the same window not from in the web application?

It could be that you have modifications on the window that are not supported in the web application.

    Cheers

    Heather

We still have no idea what was causing the error, but our partner worked with Nodus for a week. The best they could tell us is it has something to do with CCA.

So for future reference, if you see this error, you basically have to pay Nodus to fix it.
