Have you tried to reset Internet explorer if that is the browser you are using?
yes i just did that problem still persists, maybe because the data is very much. could this also be ?
Are you Online or On-Prem? It could be large data set that might be taking a while to export. See if the problem persist with exporting just 5-10 records.

I believe that something happens on serverside. I suggest to turn on trace - support.microsoft.com/.../907490 restart IIS and try to download file one more time. Log should contain explanation what happened. I'm pretty sure that issue is related to Timeouts. On- Prem, even with very little data like 5 records, it still occurs
I have had something similar to this but not exactly the same. What I did is uninstalled Internet Explorer from the problem machine and then installed it again through update. If you follow the below guide it should help you.
