Management Reporter 2012 and User Defined Fields

MR 2012 Version 2.1.1028.0, not using Data Mart.  They see USDF1 in their row format using the Dimensions window.  How can they see USDF2 - USDF4?  I also read that when using DataMart you can not use USDF fields as Dimensions but as Attributes.  Does that mean when the change over to DataMart they will lose the ability to design their row formats using USDF fields?  If yes, what happens to the existing Rows they already built? What is the difference between Dimensions and Attributes in MR 2012 with Microsoft Dynamics GP?

RE: Management Reporter 2012 and User Defined Fields

    Ryan -

This solution was very helpful - however if you want that ATTR to print for those Row Modifiers - how would that  work?  I have added the Row Modifiers to the ROW definition - then added ATTR with my User Defined 1 to the COLUMN definition and it does not print on the report - it will however export to excel if I use the Current Reporting Unit - I will get a tab in the excel workbook that has that User Defined column.  Would like to see this User Defined 1 as a column on my report output.

RE: Management Reporter 2012 and User Defined Fields

    Hi Lisa,

Here is how this works from the data mart perspective. I started with no user defined fields, and then made one edit to my 000-1100-00 account to have values of USERDEF1 for field 1, through USERDEF4 for field 4.

I then closed my MR client and re-opened to see these attributes now available. Now I can select Row Modifier in the Row Definition and set the User-Defined 1 attribute to USERDEF1. I would use this in conjunction with a value in the link to financial dimensions as well. You can use an asterisk (*) to look across all accounts, or use a smaller range depending on how you want your report defined.

I believe you will need to manually change these Row Definitions when you switch over to the data mart.

A dimension appears like a segment in your chart of accounts. Attributes are accessible through the Row Modifer field in the column, or from ATTR in the Column Definition.
