Hi...

We have a custom module PR for our Axapta 3.0. The issue is some user cannot print thru this module and some others can't though they have the same access right. From where should I trace? Sorry totally new with Axapta. Appreciate any help :)

    Hi Hans,

Axapta 3.0 is a very, very old version which is not supported by Microsoft anymore. Can you describe with more details if these users have issues with certain reports or printers only or all? Do they get an error message? Or can't they see the menu item to start certain reports? Have you tried to reset the usage data and deleted the client cache files (*.auc) for these users?

    Hi Andre,

Yes I know it is very old, but I have to keep maintain it until we implement our new Dynamics in the future, let's hope in the next 2-3 years :)

I tested it on the same PC with different users in this case. If the user can print, Axapta will pop up a preview of the document with top bar for printing before we print. The users who can't print won't have this pop up at all. No error message whatsoever.

    Hi Hans,

Can you share a screenshot of the pop up? That would potentially make it clear what this pop up is about.

    Hi Hans,

This popup is mentioning that not all columns would fit on the paper and therefor automatically scaled to have all data printed. I would suggest to reset usage data and/or delete the client usage cache files like mentioned above (if indeed the permissions are equal).

Hi Andre, thx again for ur suggestion.

    1. Like I said, some users dont even have that pop up to print. Axapta just do nothing when we try to print.

    2. Non-fit column and scale thing are acceptable, as long as it pops up

    3. How to do reset the usage?

    Regards

    Hans

    Hi Hans,

If you go to the user options form, there is a section for usage data. You can reset the usage data for a user, but it will delete all preferences set earlier as well like form personalizations, default values and more.

On the local disk you can search for *.auc and *.kti files which can be deleted when the client is closed. Then open Axapta again and see if this solved the problem.

Do you have the error also in a test environment? In that case, I would recommend to test it first.
