Purchase discounts

Posted on by 215

All:  I am fairly new to GP and am trying to figure out how to print the purchase discount on the check stub that is being sent to the vendor.  GP was set up prior to me joining the company, but was set up to generally only cover the basic essentials.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Shannon

    RE: Purchase discounts

I have a slightly different situation. The client records the full invoice value to Purchases, and a trade discount at the time of invoice entry. How can they get the original Invoice amount and discount to print on the check stub? The options we are seeing only show the remaining balance not the originating amount. the Discounts on the check appear with -0- rather than reporting the discount claimed at time of invoice entry.

    Thanks, ML

Select the check format which has the discount taken column.  For example the default check with two stubs on top has a discount taken column.

If the check format does not have the column you can modify the check format and have the discount taken column added to the format.

Note: Discount taken gets calculated if the vendors payment terms has cash discount component and the payment is made in time to avail the cash discount.

    Cheers!
