The user will need to be added within GP's security settings located under the Administration area. The user will first need to be created under Administration > Setup > User. Company access granted under Administration > Setup > User Access. Company security setup under Administration > Setup > User Security.
A desktop icon can be setup by going to the Start menu > All Programs > Microsoft Dynamics > GP. Right-click the Dynamics banner, drag to desktop, and select "Create Shortcut Here".
