Hello All,

So I am getting this "Cannot connect to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server because we cannot authenticate your credentials" error whenever i try to configure the CRM Add-in on my Outlook 2013.

The CRM environment is on-premises and 2011 version. I have installed UR16 on Client machine and server is also running on UR16. I am not able to figure out why am i getting this error and how can i resolve it?

Again, I have Microsoft Outlook 2013 installed and we currently have CRM 2011 environment with all the latest URs installed.

Please Advise.

Thank You,

Durgesh

One thing to check is the time on your computer compared to the time on the server.

if the time difference is greater than five minutes, authentication will fail

    1) Take fiddler traces on the client machine and it will tell which request fails.

    2) Do you have claims /IFD enabled environment?

    3) What is the error you get in the client config logs that you get with error message.

    4) Delete all cache creds from Credentials manager in Control panel --> user accounts

    Hey Ben,

So i have gone through the CRM log file and it was showing error related to Windows Identity Foundation. We are currently using Windows 7 and while checking with Windows Features it doesn't show Windows Identity Foundation option. Is there any way to resolve this?

    Thank You,

    Durgesh

Hi Durgesh, Please check whether you have added your CRM Server Url as Trusted Site in IE . And use IE (Recommended for CRM).

    Hello Everyone,

I was able to resolve the issue by installing Windows Identity Foundation externally and installed the latest CRM Update Roll up and re-configured it.

Note: I have Windows 7 environment. On Windows 8 the Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 is already installed and you just have to enable it by going into Turn Windows Features On or Off.

Thank You all for the help.
