Clicking 'Edit in Excel' on General Journal Batches Opens Wrong Table

I have been looking for over an hour on how to submit a bug, but this is the closest I could find (I don't know if this is a bug or a user error).  When I get to a 'General Journal Batches' page, I have several batches listed:

But when I click 'Edit in Excel' on this page and enter credentials in the task pane within Excel, it returns with 1 batch that isn't on this list:

Edit in Excel only returns Fixed Asset batches and nothing else.  How do I edit General Journal Batches in Excel if clicking "Edit in Excel" from the General Journal Batches page doesn't do that?  I feel like this is a bug, but I might be looking at this wrong.

    Hello,

There are several windows within Financials that will show you batches.  The Batches that you see are context sensitive based on where you are at within the product and this is done through some extra code on the page.  This is something that "breaks" when being run through the 'Edit in Excel' feature.

So why is the 'Edit in Excel' button there?

I don't have a good answer for you other than to say that the 'Edit in Excel' button is automatically added to all "list" type windows.  This is because it should work on all the list type windows.  In reality, it doesn't actually work on every single list type window where it is available.  This is one of those instances.

Edit in Excel will not work for editing General Journal Batches.  We have the same problem when trying to work with them through Web Services.  The API is currently the only way to work with Batches outside of the browser.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Chris,

Thank you for the response!  We are actually trying to use web services, but noticed that the 'edit in Excel' button was pulling the same data back and figured that might be a more straight forward question than one with the web service.  That answers my question, and we will see what we can do with the API to work with Batches outside the browser.
