It means I am assigning serial no to sales order, but the serial nos should be the same in parent item and in its child items and they should be assigned from parent item to child item.
There is no serial number inheritance logic from parent to child, or back the other way. This is down to the fact they could indeed be separate. You would need a modification for this to work out as you intend. Doing it manually is achievable providing the serial numbers aren't expected to follow a number series.

Can you tell what application you are using? You posted the question in the Dynamics 365 SCM forum, but you are obviously using another product. Is it Dynamics NAV or BC?
