Default Dimensions "Allowed Values Filter"

Hi:

I know that the three "Value Posting" selections within the Default Dimensions window for G/L accounts are Code Mandatory, Same Code, and No Code.

The end user just realized, however, that there is another Dimension Value that should be listed within the "Allowed Values Filter".

And, she wants this value to be temporarily held within the Allowed Values Filter.  She wants to post a journal entry for this "temporary" Dimension Value.

First of all, if a user has values within the Allowed Values Filter, can the user change "Value Posting" to none of the three selections?

Secondly, after this posting is conducted, will it be possible to remove this temporary Dimension Value from the Allowed Values Filter?

If not, can the Dimension Corrections window be used to remove it?

Thanks!

John

Hi, I checked the base application, and only when "Value Posting" = "Code Mandatory", the Allowed Values Filter can be entered.

So user can not change "Value Posting" to none. This operation clears the values in the "Allowed Values Filter".

So, I think you can to give users temporary permission to add "Allowed Values Filter". Then delete it after posting.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
