Dear All,

I use Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. Once in awhile my users do get the following error message when trying to login. '' You do not have access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Verify that you have been set up as a valid user in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.''

This happens even when the user is a valid user in the domain and Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Does anybody have an idea of how I can get this resolved immediately.

Regards

Victor

    Hi Victor,

I had this error when setting up a new user but in your case it seems weird that a working user gets this message often.

    Try the following

    1. Navigate to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90

          Rename ClientUserSettings to ClientUserSettingsOLD.config

Restart NAV client and enter the connection string

    OR

    2.  Navigate to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90

    • Open ClientUserSettings in notepad
    • Look for     <add key="ClientServicesPort" value="7046"/>
      • Change it to the port of the instance you are trying to connect to
    • Look for      <add key="ServerInstance" value="DynamicsNAV90"/>
      • Change it to the name of the instance you are trying to connect to

    Regards,

    Cecil

    Hi

Check which service user try to access when user got this error, may be user accessing some other service in which user don't have access.

You need to troubleshoot this issue a bit more. First, check if you have made any changes to the user permissions on the database level. Then, verify, when this error is repeating? Is it a floating error so next time user logs in he is doing this successfully or when he gets this message he is no more able to login? If this is a floating error, there might be issues with the network or server performance itself.

If the User could access NAV before and you are using Windows Authentication on NAV, There is a good chance that the windows password might have expired. Ask the user to log off, depending on the setup they should get a prompt to change the password. Once the password has been changed, ask the user to login back in again to NAV. If the above step didn't fix, it's worth checking the Active Directory for the user's state followed by the NAV Users table state.
