This order must be fulfilled in the Sales Order Fulfillment window

When entering sales orders in SOP entry screen for Item xyz, this message appears. User can click 'OK' to bypass the message and continue filling out sales order but message appears each time this specific item xyz is being entered.  The item is tracked by lot numbers.  Any ideas?

    It is caused by the Maintain Shipping History setting, which is part of the Manufacturing Module.  It is set Per Item.  From Item Maintenance, click the Go To Button >> Fulfillment History.  Unmark the "Maintain Shipping History" checkbox.

    Did you marked "Use Separete Fulfillment Process" in Sales Order/Invoice setup window?

    Note: To open this window, click Sales Document button to choose you document ID in Sales Order Setup window (Tools-->Setup-->Sales-->Sales Order processing).

    Also, when a user is entering an order, are they changing the quantity to Invoice?  This field needs to be updated in the Fulfillment screen for lot tracked items.

    Our Understanding Sales Order Processing manual discuses this in detail.  Filling out the many quantity fields in a sales order MUST occur in a specified sequence.
