Access denied error during install of Web Services for GP 2015

During the Dynamics Security Data Store portion of the Web Services install, I receive the following dialog message after putting in the SQL Server connection information:

"Invalid SQL Information: Access to the Authorization Manager store was denied."

This is the same server as was specified, successfully, earlier in the install. I chose Windows Trusted Authentication and have administrative access on the network and sysadmin on the database, so I'm a bit puzzled by the error.

Our environment is Windows Server 2012 R2, SQL Server 2012, and Dynamics GP 2015. The web services runtime is being installed on a separate server from the database instance. It's popped up as a nuisance with other products before, so I'll mention that our collation is Latin1_General_BIN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was having the same issue.  "Invalid SQL Information: Access to the Authorization Manager store was denied."  I resolved a reinstallation of web services for GP 2015 through this website.  Basically, I enabled TLS 1.0 in the registry.  I think the trouble started in web services after I install .Net Framework 4.7 about two months ago, maybe this program disabled TLS 1.0.

    This provided me the information:

I used this to enable TLS 1.0

    Reuben,

Did you get this resolved?  I'm having the same issue.  We are upgrading to GP 2016 and doing this install on a new server.  I moved the db from GP 2015  (DynamicsGPSecurity) at first but then deleted it.  Doesn't look like you are supposed to move it and upgrade it....rather just have it recreate during the install.  Would love to know what you did.

    Additional tests I have tried:

    • Creating a database based off our current DYNAMICS database but with Latin1_General_CI_AS collation.
    • Creating a local instance of SQL Express 2012 with all defaults and all permissions granted to myself.

Both resulted in the same access denied error, so I'm reasonably sure that it's not related to collation as it's been tested under Latin1_General_BIN, Latin1_General_CI_AS, and SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.

This still leaves me stumped about what permission I'm missing as I am an admin on both my own machine and the remote machine and have sysadmin access on both local and remote SQL instances.
