Azure Service bus

Hi guys,

We just upgraded our windows to windows 10, and some users found out that there is a "Dynamix 2012 Approvals" app in Windows Store. When users installed it. They can't log in because we don't have "Service Connection Name" . After some searching on internet, I found out that Service connection name is referring to Azure Service Bus.

The question is : Is it possible to have Azure service bus installed on Windows Server 2012 ? We don't use Windows Azure.

Regards,

    Hi sat141a,

That app is one of the 'Dynamics AX 2012 Companion Apps'. The setup for which (I think) is quite complicated, and is more than just creating an Azure Service Bus. You can find a whitepaper explaining how to configure it here:

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

And you'll get more info in general by searching for the phrase 'Companions Apps'.

    Hi,

In addition to the answer and link provided by Guy: No it is not possible to install the service bus on a Windows Server 2012. The companion apps are connecting to the Azure servicebus online. It is for this reason also not possible to bypass it, unless you create an own app.

Yes, you can install Azure Service Bus Online on Windows Server 2012.

It was only possible in Azure services and not in Windows Server 2012. But now things have changed.

You can look at this resource to get clear thoughts on the process.

    azure.microsoft.com/.../

    Here is an excerpt:

Service Bus 1.0 was designed to allow for enterprise messaging capabilities in a Windows Server-based environment.  It enables you to build, test, and run loosely-coupled, message-driven applications in self-managed environments and on developer computers.  The two primary features are Service Bus Queues and Service Bus Topics and Subscriptions.
