Microsoft CRM Version 4 - Assigning Forms to Roles Question

Good Afternoon All,

Please forgive the rather vague post but I am working with limited information myself, It has been a very long time since I have supported let alone used Version 4.. but I have a client who has two versions of a customer form, almost identical but one form has a few fields read only. CRM has allowed the same user to have access to both forms but "sporadically" switched between the two during the course of the day.

1. How do I determine how many times this has happened throughout the system.

2. What is the best way round it so it defaults to one but the user MAY switch to the other form if required

Hope someone can help and apologies for the limited amount of information again

Kind regards,

Andrew

RE: Microsoft CRM Version 4 - Assigning Forms to Roles Question

    Hi Andrew,

By default you can assign a form to multiple security role and a role can also be assigned to multiple forms.

so your user will have a security role A which will have access to form B and form C.

to do this you can go to customization ->entity> form> select form and click on manage security roles.

regarding above two strange requirements, i am afraid there is no way  to know the first requirement and for second requirement i couldnt understand the first part but second will be fine using above approach.   docs.microsoft.com/.../assign-security-roles-form
