Can't delete a Sales Batch

I'm needing to delete a Sales Batch that doesn't think it's empty.  When loading it into the Sales Batch Entry window, attempting to delete it says, "Some documents in this batch could not be deleted." There are no values in the Control Column.  There are values in the Actual Column.  But there are no associated transactions to be found whe clicking the Transactions button.

Can I just delete this record entry from the SY00500 table or are there additional records in other tables to consider?

I've scowered Customer Source and there isn't anything that refers to this issue at all.  Hope to hear from somebody.

Sincerely,

Kent

Are there sales orders left in this batch? Do any of them have customer pre-payments against them? If you print an edit list it will only list orders and returns, no orders. Try doing a lookup on the order number and have it sort by batch. I bet you will find orders sitting in this batch.

There is a SQL way to find whether this batch has been used on any transaction, which somehow is/are not showing up on GP.

A stored procedure named "spSearchOnAllDB" can be found from this link: blogs.msdn.com/.../spsearchonalldb-sql-stored-procedure-to-search-an-entire-database.aspx

Create this procedure on the respective company database and then execute this stored procedure with the parameter value being the batch number in question. From the results, I am certain, that you can figure out the actual issue. I assume that you administer the SQL Server OR have necessary permissions to do any SQL operations.

    Hope that helps.

I have seen cases like this before.  It usually occurs when someone changes a batch using the Sales Transaction Entry window and clears the screen but does not exit the screen before shutting down their terminal.

First, try Richard Wheeler's instructions to MAKE SURE you really have nothing in the batch.  Then delete it from the table.  If you missed a document that really is in the batch, running a checklinks and reconcile will bring the batch back!
