Hi,

Has anyone experienced that AX 2009 is crashing with the message 'Microsoft Dynamics AX Client has stopped working' when exporting to Excel?

A customer is trying to export transactions or on-hand inventory from item details when it happens too often that AX shuts down.

What might cause this?

Try to rebuild the client registry settings.

Most likely the cause for this is the small status window that shows up during the export.

This window is invoked from external dll and updating the registry settings for the client components can

help.

There was a button in the AX client configuration tool for 2009. I don't remember the exact caption of the button, I think it was called rebuild or something similiar.

Yes. It is related to Excel's Trust Center settings. I don't exactly remember what specific setting does it, but find a client, where exporting works and basically copy all the settings. Check with your system admin if any of those settings can cuase a security problem.

It is in the Developer tab and is called "Repair Client"

Thanks, but the 'repair client' option isn't available in my Excel, and I can't add it either.

AX Client has stopping when am trying to export to excel from any Form in AX2009. I have reset the usage data already still getting the issue.
