Customer invoice as PDF and Excel in Power Automate with connection to D365FO

Hi everyone,

In our D365FO, we send the customer invoices via Microsoft Graph in PDF format. We want to send the Sales order lines in Excel and the invoice in PDF format.
From my search, I have found that Power Automate could do that.

Does anyone know where to start? I have never used Power Automate before, but I am very willing to learn.

Thank you

    Hi,

Yes, Power Automate can definitely help with this scenario — you can build a flow that:

Triggers when a sales order is invoiced or posted in D365FO

    Retrieves the invoice PDF

Exports the sales order lines to Excel using an OData call

Sends an email with both files attached

Since you’re new to Power Automate, I’d recommend starting with:

Microsoft Learn: Power Automate for beginners

Look into using HTTP connector for Graph API and Excel Online or OneDrive for Business for generating the Excel file

Also look Microsoft Power Up Program for career switchers

    Hope this helps

    Regards,

    Zain

    Hi BS-02040558-0,

The above mentioned scenario can be achieved through PowerAutomate. Looking at the scenario in place a few recommended steps:
    1. Azure App registration for D365 FO apps
    3. Store the sales order lines exported to Excel and invoices in PDF formats in an Azure blob storage or SharePoint and then retrieve the files in an email connector like Outlook.(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/business-events/business-events-flow)

    Basic PowerAutomate training:

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.
