Deleting a Fixed Asset

When creating a fixed asset card  for a fixed asset addition we put the wrong asset ID by mistake. We would like to delete it and re-enter it. We are using the Delete option in Fixed Assets/Book but the asset does not get deleted. Do you know what could be the problem? We are using a very old version of GP and the option Tools/Utilities/Fixed Assets/Delete is not available.

Thank you very much.

Dynamics GP 9 and the old days :)

Unfortunately, I don't have a test environment. But you may try to look for this window if it exits,

Under Utilities > Fixed Assets > Delete (Is this available) ?

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

    Hi Mahmoud,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

No, this option is not available. Any other suggestion?

    Thanks a lot.

Or instead of deleting the asset we could amend the Asset ID, however I do not see this option. Is it possible?

As of 2010 R5 and up if you have the Professional Services Tools Series (which was now free) you can used the Fixed Assets tool and change the identity.  This has to be done by the user 'sa' and should not be done when other people are in your system.  But this is now available and in Version 2013 R2 and 2015 can be easily installed.
