Email Parameters: How to change "Will send as" in Email Parameters Screen?

Greetings dears,

In a demo environment running on a VM machine on my laptop, I'm learning how to send emails from D365.

As I went through the "Email parameters" screen, there I found a tab named "Test email".

In this tab screen, there is a field named "Will send as" which is disabled for editing.

There is already a value on this field which has an "@onmicrosoft.com" account.

I'm trying to use my own personal Outlook email to do the testing.

in SMTP tab, I entered the following values:

Outgoing mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com

SMTP port number: 587

User Name: my own email address (an Outlook email)
Password: my email password
After clicking "Send test email" button in Test email screen, the following error appears:
6505.Untitled.png
Can someone please explain to me the "Will send as" value how it is populated?
Is it possible to send documents through a personal email (Outlook email) so I can test sending documents and email notifications?
Thanks in advance !!!
I have the same question (0)

That comes from your user setup, navigate to user in system admin- select your vendor, user information from action pane, go to email option and there change the email ID un sender option.

Thanks Ramit, it's in User options > Account > Sender Email

But i'm still unable to send a Test Email. This time I'm using a cloud environment to do the testing for sending emails and the following error appears:

"Your email failed to send because of invalid SMTP credentials. Please visit the Email parameters page to update the credentials."

Here is a screenshot for my Email Parameters > SMTP Settings page:

Can you tell me what I'm missing?

    Hi,

This means your ID and password is not correct, have you entered your correct smtp ID and password?

If you want to test for your personal test  I can suggest to see this blog https://youtu.be/wNSLMk1NChI

    Hi Momochi,

Try using exchange server, so that you dont have to enter any credentials like below

    Email-parameters-1.png

    SMTP setup keep empty

    Hi Dileep,

After following your instructions, now I got a new error.

Here is a screen shot for the new error:

    4857.Untitled.png

Does that mean I have to ask the office admin for certain permissions?

    HI Momochi,

You should have office 365 account and that account should have a mailbox.
