What is BREP? Is it mandatory to purchase?

our vendor/service provider send us the invoice for BREP renewal. Is it mandatory to renew? as we don't have to plan to upgrade the MS Nav 2017

    BREP or Business Ready Enhancement Plan is a maintenance plan that you sign-up for to stay compliant, competitive, and thrive in today’s complex global business environment. It can also help you to prepare for the future because your company might want to transition from your current on-premises Dynamics solution to Microsoft Dynamics 365. Microsoft Dynamics 365 enables organizations to monitor the performance in real time, predict future outcomes, and make data-driven decisions to drive growth.

    The Microsoft Dynamics business-ready enhancement plan support plan continues to help you reduce downtime and mitigate support costs. Benefits include:

    New version rights, hotfixes, service packs, and regulatory releases.

    Self-support tools available through the CustomerSource online portal.

    One thing to note, if you do not pay the renewal you will not get updates and direct Microsoft support. You will also lose out on any new features and functionality within your NAV 2017 version and access to new version, (i.e. Business Central).
