When trying to remove some sales history, I get the message: "You can't remove history when interrupted batches exist."
There are no batches in batch recovery, so I imagine it is something in the database
Any suggestions?

There is probably one or more stranded records in the Batch Activity table (SY00800) in the DYNAMICS database. Check that table and clear any stranded batches that exist.
