I would like to add a 3% surcharge to a sales order, what is the best way to do this? Need applied to all items on the order...
you could use Adjust item cost/prices batch job to increase the prices
below is an example from nav, but it applies to BC as well
If you're looking to increase all your line item prices by 3%, there is no standard way to do this at once. You may have to do it one by one(per line). Alternatively, you can ask reach out to your partner to get an extension developed for you to be able to do this. Does not seem like it'll be a big customization after-all
The easiest way to actually achieve this on an existing sales order is actually to do a negative 3% invoice discount.
That is a solution you can use out of the box with out any customization.
NAV doesn't allow negative value for invoice discount, is this a new feature in BC?
appliwin Obviously, because it sure works for me! I just tested it in BC (cloud hosted) today.
Keep in mind thought that this will typically be posted to the G/L Account that you specify, (discount) so if you use it as a charge then the charge will also post to that same account...
