is it possible to auto create a PO from an SO?

Hi,

is it possible to look up existing PO's with a particular PO type and then set up an import to auto-create an SO with the PO data?

Scenario - A PO has been created and I need an SO to be auto created once the PO has been approved.  I was able to do this using the Import Tool in previous ERP systems.  Can D365 F&O do this?

    Hi laurac, I don't know if there is standard OOTB configuration for this functionality, but it can be done by customization or using business event and power automate.

    Also, as per this thread there is already functionality in Master Planning for auto creating a planned purchase order if not enough inventory (The logic can be leveraged).
